The function of nitrogen in plants


Urea used as base fertilizer and top dressing, sometimes used as seed fertilizer. 
Urea is a molecular state before transformation, cannot be absorbed by soil, should prevent lossing with water ; 
after transformation the ammonia is volatile, so also urea need deep application of soil.
Urea is suitable for all crops and all the soil,can be used as base fertilizer and top dressing, 
and can be used for dry and paddy field. 
Because of the transformation of urea in soil can accumulate a lot of ammonium ions, 
will lead to the increasing of PH 2-3 units,  itself contains a certain amount of Biuret and when the Biuret concentration reach 500ppm, 
it will inhibit the effect of crop root and bud,  therefore it is not suitable used for seed fertilizer..
Urea (nitrogen fertilizer) can promote cell division and growth, so that the branches flourish.

Urea granules are coated with 1% polymer and another coat of sulfur. Polymer coating makes the SCU coat more flexible and durable.

 

                            Polymer-Coated Sulfur-Coated Urea
May appear on fertilizer label as: PCSCU, PSCU, XCU, TriKote
Composition: A hybrid product that utilizes a primary coating of sulfur and a secondary (outer) polymer coat.
Duration: 10-14 weeks
How the nitrogen is released: First by diffusion through the polymer coating, then by capillary action in the sulfur coating as water dissolves the urea core. Release rate is dependent mainly on temperature (warmer temperature means faster release), but also on microorganisms and water.

Recommended for: Turf, corn, etc. Excellent uniformity in nutrient release, which translates to reduced surge growth and extended feeding. Better value than products with single coatings of either sulfur or polymer.
